I take the MTR to work every morning. It is always super packed. Here are somethigns that i've observed:
1) There's always a person ran in with the speed of 9.99s to the train just before the door closed. And that person usually got "pay-c" by the people.
2) Since the train is so packed, people are usually face-to-face with each other.. I feel sorry for the short people cause they usually are forced to smell great scent of the sweating people.
3) people try very hard to serach for a spot to look at in order to avoid eye contacts.
4) when people are holding the same pole, the way they stand it's like a circle facing inward with each other.. it's like when u go clubbing, a group of people form a small circle to dance.. but this group is forced to be together... n 100% silence and abit embarrasement.
5) people know which door to get off, when the train is approaching to a station, a line of people walked to that door and pushed people out when the door opened.
6) There's always these 3 ladies RAN out of the train right after they get off ... i duno why they ran coz i always meet them back at the esculator... n i acautlly passed them sometimes.
7) People looks tired everyday... esp. monday.
8) People who's waiting for the train always use the door as the mirror.. n thought that it's REALLY a mirror n do all sorts of things.. while people inside see the whole show.
9) Guys always wear blue shirts. ... it's like u r looking into a blue sea.
10) 90% of the people are either reading the newspaper or listening to mp3. .. i m not one of them.. guess wht i do.. i pray for the people around me. i look at them and guess wht kinda people they r by the way they dress and observe as much as i could.. n then i pray for them.. i usually pray that they can have the chance of listening to the gospel.
i tried to pray for at least 3 ppl everyday on my way to work. Hope it helps.

ch.11 teens@hk
Went to a bandshow last sat. It's an outdoor bandshow with Hk local bands. well, it started at 3pm but of coz, i didn't get to there until 8pm due to my lovely job. But from wht i heard, i didn't miss too much.. lol.. Well, the main show started at like 7pm..n from 3-7pm, there were some extreme sports show and graffitti kinda thing.. supposed to be good but then it rained the whole day.. so my freinds said it was abit boring.
ANYWAY, it was still raining when i got there.. it was hard to walk on the ground since it has became mud already. After a few boring bands, a heavy metal band came up. The teens suddenly formed into a big circle.. n suddenly, they were runing around the circle like crazy. kinda scary actually. they bumped into each other with all their strength, some fell onto the ground and some were kicking the air like a mad man. It was horrible to see them doing that. The look like they were enjoying alot and found it super fun. But what i had in my mind at that time was that, o Lord, pls help them Lord. They looked like they were suddenly "sheung sun" gum. i felt so sad at that time.. n was thinking..is this how the teens these days express themselves? is there something that i could do for the teens in hk?
i know another group of teens in hk. They r all international school kids. i know them through my cousin and they go to the same church as me. Same age as those in the concerts, but so different. They play bands too.. into Chrisitan rock.. but u can see that they all have peace in them. My cousin has been asking me to help as a youth counsellor since i was back to hk.. but i haven't really give him an answer coz if i say yes, i'll have to give up my fri night... n u know.. fri night is such a great night for fun.. lol.. But these days, i have this urge to do something for the teens. i guess seeing those in the concerts have somehow confirmed my decision. i think life is more than just getting high.
gotta see how God leads me to lead them.
suddenly feel so old tim. haha..

ch.10 red and blue pill
Red is blue.
Blue is red.
The above statments are correct. All the things that u learnt since you were a child are wrong.
Welcome back to the matrix.
you are back with no choice.

ch.8 cell group
Went to dinner with Tai tonite. We went to this jap restaurant for "siu-ban" = "burn-cake", which is pretty gd... shd have ordered sake tho.. ANYWAY, we are thinking to organize a cell group for the hk-ex-dan. So far, i think not many of us have seriously settled in a church yet and our spiritual life is pretty .. lost. After i worked, i feel even worst. I feel like life is just work, sleep, eat and exercise. That's not life. And for my spiritual life.. even worse. I feel so tired at 10pm everynite.. n when i go to bed.. i can just fall asleep immediately. And i think most of us shares the same feeling as me. So, i think forming a cell group is acatulyl a need for us. Our idea is that we'll meet once a month. We wont' have programs or anything, since everyone is so tired from work already.. we'll just share with each other. Pick a passage and read it and share our thoughts and then we'll sing and praise. Sounds gd to me and i think we all need that.
Pls keep this in your prayers.

ch.7 tired
have u ever feel so tired that u just wanna close your eyes and sleep.. while you r walking? That was exactly how i felt when i was walking out from the mtr station after work today. I couldn't opened my eyes and my legs were not listening to me. A 10 min walk turned into a 20 mins seems-like-no-end-walk. Ppl just kept passing me and my walking speed just kept on decreasing. I do not know why i felt so tired. This new jobs is very energy consuming. I feel more tired with this job than the old one even i get off earlier at 6pm. I m still very tired at this moment. My already small eyes have become a 0.5pt thin line right now... I m drinking a cup of chinese tea but it's not helping. I get 5.5 hrs of sleep everyday.... may be that's why...
argh. my shoulder is aching...
and it's only monday............

ch.6 miracle
Miracle! There's miracle!!
My dad is back with a healthy kidney.. within a month. I m so thankful for wht the Lord has given us. HE is treating us so gd.. and i hope that my dad will realise soon.
Feb 13th, 2004. It was a night that I'll never forget. I was at the hospital visiting my dad while he recieved a call from the police saying my great aunt has passed away in her apartment. My dad was doing alrite at that time but wasn't allow to leave the hospital, so me and my bro rushed to my great aunt's place and do the follow up. It was my first time dealing with death so closely. The scene is still vividly inside my head. I remember clearly all the things, all the details of that night. The police, my great aunt and things inside her house.. even the smell. Just 10 mins after finishing the procedures with the police, my brother recieved a call from the hospital telling him that our dad got into the ICU due to high toxic level. so we rushed back to the hospital. My dad was semi-unconscious by then. he recognized us but didn't know wht he was talking about. Again, it was something that i'll never forget. Something that i dun wanna experience again. Things just happened all at once. It was a horrible expereince but i m thankful that God placed me in HK at the right time. He's so amazing. I was there when I was needed the most.
And now, whenever i saw my dad, i was reminded of how God has blessed us. It was amazing. Thank God for showing me a miracle.

ch.5 freedom
today i took the ferry back home after work. I usually take the MTR and it only takes 20 mins. But today, just suddenly felt like walking. After work, i walked from my office up to wellington street, all the way towards central. It was around 6 something and ppl weren't much. It was acatully an adventure to me coz it was my first time really walk around central. To me, central was nothing but buildings and filled with crazy workaholics. however, i found out the human side of central tonite. I went to "lei yuen east street", walked and shopped and it was fun. Then i walked to Queen's square and hit the ferry. It was around 7:30pm by then. I was hoping to see the Light and laser show on my way to TST.. like watching the show on the ferry kinda mood. anyway, the ferry was fast n i got to TST at 7:45pm. So i acatully went to the Clock and stood there and waited for the show to begin. The show.. was not as great as i thought n it was kinda boring. The worst thing was that it started to rain right at the moment the show started. So i left 5 mins later n got on the bus towards home.
Not taking the MTR was a smart choice, i gotta see way more things on my way back. All the ppl, all the funny things happenening in the city. how to ppl dress, where they r heading ( guessing in my head). Being alone is actually kinda nice sometimes, can go wherever and whenever i want.
My dad will be coming back tomorrow. not gonna be as free as now. ..

ch.4 butter crepe
Butte crepe. i love it.
went to this small crepe shop at soho tonite. had their butter crepe and i fell in love with it. Butter is melted on top and with sugar spread all over the crepe. plus it's so chewy and fresh. just super nice.
love it so much.
thanks to bday celebration, i gotta meet up with friends whom i havent' seen for quite awhile. All are ppl i known from toronto, UT friends. We chatted and everyone's life have changed in different attitude. One became the assistant food manager of a chain coffee store, and her job is to find gd food for her store. And yeah, it was her who introduce the great butter crepe into my life~ :P One just got into Med sch in CU, and got so much struggles and concerns. Another one acatully got married last month.. and I am into this salon/magazine business, which is quite amazing. Nothin of those have came into our mind when we were at UofT. Back then, we just hang out at this gal's, the food gal, place to eat her "homework" from cooking school. All sorts of things, desserts, bread and french food. Those were some gd times.
well, as i grow older, the more i realize how amazing God is. His plan for everyone is so different yet so right for each of us.
Just awesome.

ch.2 My office
So, these are some characteristics of my office:
1) Chill out & acid jazz music playing from 9-6pm.. from my boss' stereo.
2) We order Starbucks take-out. Yes, u can order take out at Starbucks when u spent over hk$100.
3) Vicki-lization. u got it rite, my boss' name is Vickie. lol. (well, everyone hates her.. but frankly, i think she's ok)
4) The color of the office are: white, green and dark wood brown. Things are in between modern and european settings.
5) I am using a 24" monitor.... it's huge...
6) There's this gal name her file as " baby_1a", "Baby_1b" when there's nothing to do with "baby".
7) Another gal named Ann Tiu.
8) I have 8 ex-co-workers and I've only been there for 3 weeks.
9) My boss is less than 5 feet tall, she smokes non-stop and when she gets angry, it's horrible. However, when she smiles, she looks like a kid. How weird.
10) We have a head in the center of the office. ... well, my company IS a hair salon company afterall.

ch.1 home + sick
how can one person feel homesick when she's home?
Everyone around me is sick. My brother, my lovely grandma, uncles, aunts, and co-workers. Thank God I am still feeling healthy *touch wood*... with all the junk food dinners that i had for the past weeks.
When I am sick, all i want is to stay home and sleep.... or may be watch "Sex and the City" with rum and coke. lol. Anyway, today, Aug 10th, is the date when i left HK for immigration 11 yrs ago. Time flies. I am back to HK, the place where I used to live. I am "home".
Or am i not?
I dont' feel like I am home. I miss my home in Toronto where I had my happy carefree days and where I grew up with my freinds. Now, i have to start over again at this place that I used called "home". Everything seems so familiar yet strange. Yes, i still have this feeling after I am back for 1/2 yr.
So yah.. i m homesick at home.
